Warren City School District is accepting applications and interviewing SUBSTITUTE TEACHER candidates.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER INFORMATION

Eligible candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher to qualify to obtain a substitute teaching license through the Ohio Department of Education.

Interested candidates can pick up a Substitute Teaching Application at the front desk of the Warren City School District’s Administrative Office, located at 105 High St. NE, Warren, OH 44481, to start the substitute process.

Day-by-day Substitute Teachers – $95 daily

Building Substitute Teachers (if needed) – $100 daily

Both Day-by-Day and Building Substitute Teachers are eligible to work up to (4) days a week within the Warren City School District.

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS

Contracted Rate:  $13.39 to $13.78/hour.

Substitute Rate:  $9.80/hr.

  • Must have or be able to obtain the following:
  • Paraprofessional certificate;
  • Associates Degree or Equivalent; or higher degree; 
  • Ability to interact with students;
  • Physical ability to assist with students with various disabilities;
  • Work under the supervision of Teachers to assist with students in academic interventions;
  • Provide individual and small group support to students;
  • Ability to provide clerical duties as assigned;
  • Demonstrate good communication skills;
  • Provide attendance services for students. 

5.5 Hour Bus Driver

Contracted Rate:  $20.55/hr.

Substitute Rate:  $16.78/hr.

Summary of Job Requirements:

  • Have a Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements;
  • Responsible for the safe transportation of pupils to and from school;
  • Prepare required reports;
  • Knowledge of State of Ohio regulations and rules concerning safe operation of a bus;
  • Clean and assure safety equipment are working properly;
  • Maintain daily driving schedule as established;
  • Maintain orderly or students;
  • Report all accidents to proper civil and school official.

Bus Attendant

Contracted Rate:  $10.00/hr.

  • Demonstrate good judgement; mental and physical health.
  • Maintain order among students through communication;
  • Inspect the vehicle for remaining passengers and belongings;
  • Control all emergency situations safely and properly;
  • Attend required in-service trainings and safety meetings;
  • Keep bus clean and orderly with daily cleaning;
  • Assist driver to complete successful  bus evacuation drills;

Maintenance/Janitorial

Contracted Rate:  $16.92/hr.

Substitute Rate:  $13.36/hr.

Crossing Guard

Rate:  $10.50/hr.

Summary of Job Duties:

  • Be able to safely cross students at designated crossing areas and building entrances; and
  • Be aware of weather conditions and dress appropriately.
