On Aug. 16, the 2018 Raider Marching Band, under the direction of Reid Young, Director of Bands at Warren G. Harding High School, presented another stellar program with “Band Night 2018: We Got the FUNK” at Mollenkopf Stadium. This year’s show consists of a several popular hits from rock to funk.
The 160 members of the Raider Band include 55 woodwinds, 56 brass, 22 percussionists, 10 majorettes, 15 flag line members and two field commanders, Samara Henderson and Antwan Howard. Jordan Ringold is head drummer.
Along with the WGH High School Raider Marching Band, this year’s WGH Raider Band Night included bands from Champion, Lakeview, Liberty and Niles.
The band offers a unique and creative blend of exciting, energetic ‘show band’ elements within the context of contemporary ‘corps style’ marching.
